Beautiful blue glass swan by Tarbeklaas, Estonia, dating from the Soviet era and most likely produced during the 1960s–1970s.
This sculptural glass bird features a graceful elongated S-shaped neck and a streamlined free-form body in rich cobalt blue glass. The colour changes beautifully with the light, ranging from brilliant translucent blue to almost black in the thickest areas of the glass.
A small green-yellow accent at the tip of the beak adds a distinctive finishing detail to the elegant form.
Tarbeklaas was one of Estonia’s best-known 20th-century glass manufacturers, producing both functional and decorative glassware. Today, its pieces are collected as examples of Estonian and Baltic design from the Soviet period.
