Original cast metal ashtray by VASAR, featuring the raised inscription "Tallinn anno 1154", commemorating the first recorded mention of Estonia's capital city. With its clean geometric form, textured cast finish and substantial weight, this piece is a fine example of late twentieth-century Estonian industrial design.
Although originally produced as an ashtray, its timeless minimalist appearance makes it equally suitable today as a decorative desk accessory, catch-all tray for keys or coins, or an interesting display piece for collectors of Estonian and Baltic design.
The square design measures approximately 10 × 10 × 2 cm and features four cigarette rests surrounding a deep central bowl. The underside retains the original VASAR maker's mark.
The ashtray is in good pre-owned condition with expected signs of age and use, including light surface wear and a darker area in one corner from previous use.
