Anna-Lena Dancy Pip-Pip Bird Milk Jug – Swedish Studio Pottery

A charming hand-thrown Swedish stoneware milk jug by ceramic artist Anna-Lena Dancy, titled “PIP-PIP-KANNA.”

The playful design was inspired by the oystercatcher (Swedish: strandskata), reflected in the bird’s characteristic black-and-white colouring and the small red accent on the pouring lip.

The original label reads “En mjölkkanna inspirerad av strandskator! Handdrejat av Dancy” – a milk jug inspired by oystercatchers, hand-thrown by Dancy.

Finished in matte black and warm off-white glaze, the asymmetric sculptural shape gives this small pitcher a distinctive Scandinavian studio pottery character.
