A striking pair of handmade studio art glass martini glasses by renowned Estonian glass artist Kai Koppel.
Each glass is individually formed from clear glass with a deep burgundy-red glass detail running organically through the substantial square base, slender stem, and into the bowl. The contrast between the transparent glass and rich red interior gives the pair a sculptural, elegant appearance.
Both glasses retain their original Kai Koppel labels.
Kai Koppel (born Kai Okas in 1952) is an important Estonian glass artist and the daughter of the celebrated Estonian painter and graphic artist Evald Okas. She studied glass art in Tallinn and became one of the notable figures in the development of independent studio glass in Estonia. In 1991, Kai Koppel and fellow glass artist Viivi-Ann Keerdo established Estonia's first independent hot-glass studio.
